Some listening situations may be more difficult for your child than others - either because of background noise or because the sound comes from too far away. Assistive listening devices can be helpful together with hearing aids in situations such as these:

  • Listening to the teacher at school
  • Using the telephone
  • Watching television
  • Listening to music
  • Travelling in the car

Your audiologist will be able to tell you which devices can help your child. If you notice that your child has difficulty in situations other than the ones listed above, ask what kind of assistive devices might be available.
