ITE
ITE – or In-The-Ear – hearing aids are custom-made to fit the individual user's ear. As the word explains ITE hearing aids are worn inside the ear and are usually recommended for mild to moderate, or sometimes even severe hearing losses.
ITE hearing aids come in several sizes, but they are not usually recommended for young children, because their outer ears and ear canals are too small, and are still growing. If they are suitable for the degree of your child's hearing loss, he or she can typically wear them from about the age of 8-10 onwards.
